As Australia's only association for professional managers, you will be aligning yourself with over 20,000 other managers Australia wide as a person of experience, integrity and professionalism.

A recent survey conducted by AIM SA of over 200 managers in South Australia determined that :

  • 100% of respondents said it was important for a manager to commit to ethical work practices

  • 97% of respondents believed it is important for a maneger to keep up to date with the latest trends in business and management

  • 62% of respondents said that when employing a person for a managerial role, it was important for that person to have previously demonstrated their commitment to a career in management

  • 71% of respondents said that when employing a person for a managerial role, professional membership of AIM would be viewed as either a positive or very positive factor when selecting a candidate

  • 87% of respondents said that they saw membership of AIM as a method of demonstrating experience, intent to operate ethically and intent to keep up with the latest trends in business and management.

To join as a professional member - you need to have a minimum of two years experience in a management or supervisory role - dependent on academic qualifications.

Professional membership is offered in four levels of status :

  • Affiliate/Associate
  • Member (AIMM)
  • Associate Fellow (AFAIM)
  • Fellow (FAIM)

    • Women in Management (WIM) - WIM is the largest Women's networking group in Adelaide and brings businesswomen together in an environment that encourages, supports and propels career enhancement through networking, role modelling, issues identification and professional development opportunities.

    Certified Professional Manager (CPMgr)

    The CPMgr designation has been developed for the new generation of successful managers - qualified, experienced, ethical professionals and dedicated to a commitment to maintain their skills and knowledge.

    The letters CPMgr following a professional qualification is not only prestigious but also signifies that the individual is a cut above average.

    The designation has been developed with one objective - for CPMgr to become the recognised benchmark qualification for professional managers in Australia, respected by both employers and individuals.
