AIM SA wins Large Training Provider of the Year

08/09/2009

For the 3rd time in 5 years, the State’s largest private provider of management training and consultancy services has been named Large Training Provider of the Year at the 2009 South Australian Training Awards.

The Australian Institute of Management SA (AIM SA) provides businesses, its members and the community with professional development, representation and management services in state-of-the-art facilities located at Hindmarsh.

AIM SA training programs are designed to meet the needs of managers across a range of industries including business services, the public sector, financial services, local government and training and assessment.

Training is responsive to business and individual needs and is available from Certificate III through to MBA level and is delivered by experienced facilitators and current industry practitioners.

AIM SA targets line up with the South Australian Strategic Plan to increase the number of South Australian’s with post-school qualifications.

AIM SA Education and Training Director Karen Taylor says it is a fantastic achievement to win the award.

“The awards reflect what we do every day. We are genuinely committed to our training and believe passionately if you are going to do something, do it right,” Ms Taylor says.

“At AIM SA about 5000 people participate in training on-site and off-site per year. Approximately 80 per cent of that is VET training.”

“It is the third time in recent years that AIM SA has won an award at the South Australian Training Awards.”

The Australian Institute of Management SA  was among five student winners and five enterprise winners presented with awards by Employment, Training and Further Education Minister Michael O’Brien at the gala dinner held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on 4 September.

Minister O’Brien says the annual awards, hosted by the State’s Training and Skills Commission, showcase excellence in the SA’s training sector and the high achievements of vocational education and training (VET) students.

Award winners will have the opportunity to represent South Australia at the Australian Training Awards to be held in Canberra on 19 November 2009.
